Face Mask Update

From Tuesday 16th May 2023, mandatory face masks in a GP surgery are no longer required. However, if as a result of any background health condition you would wish to continue to wear a mask, please feel free to do so. You may still see some of our staff wearing masks when it is needed for clinical care or indeed they choose to do so for their own reasons.

Visitor do not need to wear a face covering but can still choose to do so.

We would like to request that when you come to the surgery with respiratory infection symptoms that you do let our team know, receptionists and the clinician you will see.

Please maintain good hand hygiene.

Thanks for your continued support

Entering the Surgery

If coming in for an appointment there is hand sanitiser at the door on the window ledge for you to use.

When you come into the building, please go the reception desk to tell staff you have an appointment and then take a seat in the waiting area or discuss anything else with the reception staff.

Change to GP Services

In line with NHS Highland direction, your GP Practice will regrettably be no longer responsible or able to deliver vaccinations and immunisations. This is effective from 1st March 2023.

Castletown and Canisbay would like our patients to be informed that this is a decision made out with our control and despite our best efforts, a situation we are unable to change.

After 1st March all vaccinations will be in Board run clinics held in the community. Patients eligible for vaccination will be invited by letter to book or asked to attend an appointment by NHS Highland not the practice.

Patients with questions about child or adult immunisations can contact the NHS Highland Service Delivery Centre (SDC) helpline: phone 08000 320 339, Mon - Fri, 9:30am-5:00pm. It is requested that patients wait for an appointment letter before calling the NHS Highland SDC to make an appointment.

Please could we ask for patients to contact NHS Highland directly on the number above with any questions. If the practice receives any further updates or helpful information for our patients, we will post these directly on our websites.

The practice would like to thank all our patients for their understanding in this matter.
